Abstract
AI is shaking up the electrical systems by making them intelligent where they can predict, monitor, control, optimize and make decisions. The review covers machine learning and deep learning techniques and their application in power generation, transmission and distribution, smart grid, renewable energy integration and energy storage. It enhances load forecasting, fault detection, predictive maintenance, energy management, and renewable power forecasting using AI-powered methods. But there are data quality, cybersecurity, explain ability, reliability, computational complexity and interoperability issues, which stand in the way of widespread adoption. New technologies such as edge computing, digital twins and adaptive learning provide potential for the creation of AI-enabled electrical systems that are secure, resilient, efficient and sustainable.
